Moving Company Advertising Ideas, Moving Company Marketing and Mover Ad Maker Software
Peak moving season gives a local mover about eighteen weeks to book most of the year, and the ad that fills the calendar is usually a truck photo with a phone number on it. Paste your service page or type the offer, and Adscreator writes the ad copy and builds on-brand moving company advertising creative in every placement size, so a long distance promotion or an apartment move special can go live the same week you decide to run it.

Direct answer
Moving company advertising is the paid layer on top of referrals: Google Search ads on "movers near me" and "long distance moving company," Google Local Services Ads that put your license, insurance and reviews above the search results, local Facebook and Instagram ads for apartment moves, packing services and storage, and display retargeting for the homeowner who requested three quotes and picked nobody yet. Adscreator handles the creative half. It takes a service page URL or a short description of the offer, writes the headline, body copy and call to action, generates on-brand images using your company colors, logo and fonts, and renders every Facebook, Instagram and Google display size in one pass. You get several angles per offer to test, then export the files and run them from your own ad accounts. It produces static image creative and copy, not video, and never connects to your ad accounts.
The problem
Moving is the most seasonal trade in home services and the most quote shopped. A homeowner requests three or four estimates in an afternoon, and the mover who answers first with a credible looking brand usually wins. That puts the whole advertising year into a narrow window: an apartment and small move offer that runs from spring through Labor Day, a long distance and interstate message that has to look like a real company rather than a broker, packing and supplies creative that raises average ticket, a storage offer for the customer whose closing date slipped, and an off season commercial and office move push that keeps crews working in January. Each one needs its own creative in four or five placement sizes, and it competes for the owner or the office manager who is already dispatching trucks and confirming crews. The two usual answers are an agency on retainer that drops a new price into last summer template, or somebody building it in Canva between quote calls. One is expensive, the other is slow, and neither has the offer live on the Monday you decided to run it.
How Adscreator handles it
Adscreator turns one offer into the whole ad set. Paste the URL of the service or offer page, or type the offer in a sentence, and it writes the ad copy in the tone you pick, generates on-brand creative from your company colors, logo and fonts, then renders the Facebook and Instagram square, the 4:5 vertical, the 9:16 Story and the standard Google display banners from that same input. Every run returns variants, so a long distance offer can be tested on the fixed price angle, on the licensed and insured angle, and on the availability angle instead of betting peak season on one guess. Pricing is flat with no credits, so running apartment moves, packing, storage and commercial offers together costs the same as running one. Adscreator never touches your ad accounts: you export the copy and the image files and launch them yourself.

What moving company advertising costs per click and per lead, by channel.
There is no moving or movers row in the benchmark data. LocaliQ, the publisher most often quoted for US small business advertising costs, breaks its search report down to Home and Home Improvement and Real Estate and stops there. The 99 Calls Local Services Ads cost estimator, the only public tool reporting charged lead prices from live campaigns, lists 25 industries and moving is not one of them. So every mover specific number circulating online is either a neighboring category figure relabeled or an agency reporting its own book of accounts. These are the figures that have a real publisher and a stated method behind them, and the sample each one rests on.
| Channel and source | Cost per click | Cost per lead | Sample behind it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search, Home and Home Improvement (LocaliQ) | $8.33 | $90.92 | Thousands of campaigns, count not published |
| Search, Real Estate (LocaliQ) | $3.22 | $102.51 | Thousands of campaigns, count not published |
| Search, all industries (LocaliQ) | $5.42 | $66.69 | Thousands of campaigns, count not published |
| Display, Home and Home Improvement (LocaliQ) | $3.49 | $65.37 | 7,074 campaigns, Apr 2025 to Jun 2026 |
| Local Services Ads, movers (99 Calls estimator) | Pay per lead, no CPC | Not published | No moving category in the tool |

The five moving offers worth building creative for, in the order a local mover should run them
Lead with the move that is already booked in the customer head. Local apartment and small home moves come first, because that customer has a date and is comparing three quotes today, and the ad competes on trust and availability rather than on whether to spend at all. Second is the long distance and interstate message, the highest ticket work most movers sell and the one where creative quality moves the needle most, because the buyer is trying to tell a real carrier apart from a lead broker. Third is packing and supplies, which is not a lead generator so much as an average ticket lever, and it belongs in retargeting aimed at people who already requested a quote. Fourth is storage, the offer that catches the customer whose closing date slipped and who now needs somewhere to put a house for three weeks. Fifth is commercial and office moving, which runs in the off season, converts on relationships rather than clicks, and exists to keep crews paid in January and February. That is five distinct creative sets in four or five sizes each, refreshed at least twice a year, which is exactly the production volume that breaks a Canva workflow.
Local Services Ads for movers are moving into Performance Max, and the first US phase already includes moving
This is the single biggest change to mover paid search in years and most of the advice online has not caught up to it. Google is migrating Local Services Ads out of their own dashboard and into Google Ads as Performance Max campaigns with pay per lead goals. The documentation states that the first phase of the migration began in August 2026 for select home and storefront service providers in the United States, and moving is named in that group alongside plumbing, HVAC, electrical, cleaning, lawn care, roofing and pest control. Late 2026 expands the migration to broader advertiser groups and custom configurations, and 2027 brings non US accounts and all remaining business categories. Pay per lead pricing, the placements on Search and Maps and the keywordless targeting all stay. What changes is worth knowing before it lands on your account: manual bidding and vertical level target cost per action are being phased out, weekly budgets convert to daily averages, historical performance reports do not carry over into Google Ads even though lead data does, and Better Business Bureau callouts are no longer supported, so a profile that leaned on that badge needs six or more other structured callouts in its place. Google says migrating accounts get an advance notification email fourteen days before the switch. If your profile is not screened yet, budget three to four weeks: movers need general liability and professional liability insurance, a state level business license and a state level owner license, a verified Google Business Profile, and background checks on the business, owner or business representative for selected advertisers.
The addressable market got smaller in 2024, which is an argument about creative rather than budget
Census Bureau figures for 2024 put the share of people who moved to a different residence in the same state at 8.9 percent, down from 9.1 percent in 2023, and the share who moved to a different state at 2.1 percent, down from 2.3 percent. Those look like small decimals until you translate them into a service area. Fewer households moving in the same territory, with the same number of movers bidding on the same keywords, means the cost of a click goes one direction and the value of winning the quote comparison goes up with it. The lever that is still cheap in that environment is not the bid. It is how many distinct, credible creative angles you can put in front of a shrinking pool of people who are about to request three estimates. A mover running one truck photo against a competitor running six tested angles on the same audience loses the comparison before the phone rings, and pays the same cost per click to do it. Display makes the point sharply: on the same publisher numbers a Home and Home Improvement lead costs $65.37 on display against $90.92 on search, and the display figure carries a stated sample of 7,074 campaigns while the search report publishes no count at all. Display is where a quote that went cold gets a second look, and the reason most movers skip it is production, not strategy. The standard Google display inventory alone wants eight to twenty sizes per creative, and an agency bills for every one of them.

questions
Moving company ad maker: the questions people ask.
How do I advertise my moving company?
Run Google Search ads on high intent terms like "movers near me," "long distance moving company" and "apartment movers," add Google Local Services Ads so your license, insurance and reviews sit above the results, run local Facebook and Instagram ads for apartment moves, packing and storage offers, and retarget anyone who requested a quote and did not book. Keep the Google Business Profile current, because a large share of local moving demand resolves in the map pack, and build referral relationships with realtors and property managers, which most movers still report as their largest single source of work. The recurring job is producing on-brand creative for each offer in every placement size, which is what Adscreator automates.
How much should a moving company spend on advertising?
Most local movers budget 5 to 10 percent of revenue on marketing, with newer companies at the higher end while they build a review base and a referral network. There is no published mover cost per lead, so size the budget off the closest categories: at the $90.92 Home and Home Improvement cost per lead LocaliQ publishes for search, a $4,000 monthly budget should produce roughly 44 leads, and your booking rate against average job value decides whether that works. Weight the spend heavily toward the peak window rather than spreading it evenly across twelve months, and keep creative production on a separate flat line so it does not rise every time you add an offer.
What is the best way to get moving leads?
For most local movers the ranking is referrals first, Local Services Ads second, Google Search ads third, and local social plus retargeting fourth. Referrals from realtors, property managers and past customers convert at a rate no paid channel matches. Local Services Ads come next because you pay per lead rather than per click and the verification badge does the trust work your ad copy would otherwise have to do. Search catches the person with a date in hand. Social and display are for offers and for staying in front of the customer during the days they are collecting other estimates.
Do Facebook ads work for moving companies?
Yes, for the offer driven half of the business rather than the emergency half. Facebook and Instagram rarely catch the customer whose closing is in nine days, because that person goes to Google or the map. What social does well is push apartment move, packing and storage offers to nearby renters and homeowners, target life event audiences and specific apartment complexes or new developments, and retarget people who priced a move and left. The creative has to look like a licensed carrier rather than a broker, and it has to lead with a specific offer plus a trust signal, which is where most local mover social ads fall down.
How much does moving company advertising software cost?
Adscreator is not open for purchase yet; planned pricing starts at $39 per month on Starter, or $29 per month billed yearly. There is no free plan and no credits to ration, so advertising apartment moves, long distance, packing, storage and commercial work all year costs the same as advertising one offer. The media budget behind those ads on Google or Meta is separate and billed by those platforms directly.

Budget is the first question for most moving companies, and the published data does not contain the answer people assume it does. how much Google Ads cost for moving companies shows why there is no mover row in the two largest US small business benchmark reports, what the closest categories actually cost, and what the Local Services Ads move into Performance Max changes for movers this year.
Realtors and property managers send more moving work than any ad channel, and both of them advertise too. The real estate ad maker covers the listing and agent creative your referral partners run, and lead generation ads covers the instant form creative that collects a move date and a zip code without sending anyone to a landing page.
The trades share one advertising pattern, so the playbooks move across them. Google Ads for contractors covers the responsive search and display asset requirements, the electrician ad maker covers offer led creative for a licensed trade, and the HVAC ad maker covers how to time creative to a season that only lasts a few months.
