Towing Company Advertising: Towing Business Advertising, Towing Company Ads and a Tow Truck Ad Maker

Google stopped letting advertisers create new call-only ads in February 2026, and the ones towing companies have run for years stop serving in February 2027. The replacement is a responsive search ad with a call asset, which needs up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions per ad group instead of two lines and a phone number. AdsCreator writes that copy for each towing job and builds the matching social and display creative in every size, in one pass.

Direct answer

Towing company advertising is the paid layer that brings in cash calls on top of motor club and police rotation work: Google Search ads with a call asset on "tow truck near me" and "towing service," Facebook and Instagram ads that keep your truck and number in front of drivers in your service area, and separate creative for fleet, dealer and property manager accounts, which buy on contract rather than in an emergency. AdsCreator is a towing ad maker. Paste a service page URL or type the offer, and it writes the headlines, descriptions and social copy, builds images from your brand kit, and renders every Facebook, Instagram and Google size, so light duty towing, roadside help, accident recovery and heavy duty work each get their own ad.

The problem

A towing company sells at least five jobs from one phone number, and they are bought by different people in very different moods. A driver on the shoulder at 11 p.m. wants to know how fast you can get there and roughly what it will cost. A driver locked out of their car or stuck with a dead battery wants roadside help, not a tow. An accident scene is often decided by the police or the insurer. A trucking company with a disabled tractor trailer needs heavy duty recovery and asks about equipment and insurance. A fleet manager or a used car dealer is choosing a vendor for the year. One generic "24/7 towing" ad pays the blended click price for all of them and speaks to none. On top of that, the ad format most towing accounts were built on is being retired: call-only ads can no longer be created, and a responsive search ad needs far more copy than most owners have time to write between calls.

How AdsCreator handles it

AdsCreator turns one offer into the whole ad set. Paste the URL of your towing, roadside assistance, accident recovery or heavy duty page, or type the offer in a sentence, and it writes up to 15 short headlines and 4 descriptions for the search ad, the primary text and headline for Facebook and Instagram, and builds images from your brand kit in square, vertical, landscape and display sizes. Build one set per job, a night and weekend set that leads with response time, and a business set written for fleet managers and dealers rather than stranded drivers. Generate variations of the headline and the image, run them against each other, and keep the one that makes the phone ring.

specs

What towing company advertising costs per click and per lead, and which numbers are measured.

Towing has no public multi account Google Ads benchmark of its own. What is published comes from agencies reporting on their own clients, plus measured data from adjacent automotive trades. These are the figures worth planning with, read on September 25, 2026, with the sample behind each one, so you can see which are measurements and which are one client's results.

Figure and source Cost per click Cost per lead Sample
Towing, agency summary across its accounts (Web Eminence, March 2024) Not published $20 to $30 typical, under $10 to $15 in some markets 17 accounts in the title, "over 30 towing campaigns" in the update; conversion rate 20 to 30 percent
Towing, one Phoenix client (OMG Tow Marketing case study) $2.22 $3.69 One company, account managed since December 2019, budget grown from $1,000 to $6,500 a month
Auto repair, service and parts (LocaliQ) $4.35 average $29.96 average 2,001 US search campaigns, Oct 2024 to Sep 2025
Mobile mechanic, the closest roadside trade (99 Calls) $3.93 average in 2026 Not published for this row Agency managed accounts, 2026 year to date
Local Services Ads, towing (Google) Pay per lead, no public price Not published Towing is a listed US category; 99 Calls' 25 row estimator has no towing row

Call-only ads are ending: what a towing account runs instead

Google announced on October 3, 2025 that call ads, the call-only format that put a phone number and two short lines in front of a mobile searcher, are being deprecated. Since February 2026 no new call-only ad can be created, and in February 2027 every existing one stops receiving impressions. For towing that is a bigger change than for most trades, because a tow is bought on the phone and many towing accounts were built almost entirely on call-only ads. Google's replacement is a responsive search ad with a call asset attached. The call button still shows on mobile, but the ad itself is now assembled by Google from up to 15 headlines of 30 characters and up to 4 descriptions of 90 characters that you supply. That is where most owner run accounts fall short: they paste the old two lines into a responsive ad and get a weak ad strength rating and fewer impressions. Write headlines for each job and each promise separately, such as response time, the service area, flatbed or wheel lift, roadside help, heavy duty, the hours and a price anchor if you publish one, so Google has real combinations to test.

Which towing jobs deserve their own ad, and who is buying each one

Split the campaign by job before you split it by platform. Light duty towing is the core cash call: a driver who needs a car moved now and is choosing between the first two or three numbers on the screen, so the ad should lead with arrival time and the area you cover. Roadside assistance, meaning jump starts, lockouts, tire changes and fuel delivery, is a cheaper, faster job, and a driver searching for a lockout does not want to read about tow trucks. Accident recovery is often steered by the police or the insurer, so its ad is closer to a reputation piece aimed at repair shops and body shops that refer the work. Heavy duty towing and recovery sells to trucking companies and fleet dispatchers who ask about wreckers, rotators and insurance limits before they ask about price. Long distance transport and dealer moves are planned jobs, quoted in advance, and sell on flatbed equipment and scheduling. Five buyers, five ads. A company that runs one "24/7 towing" ad to all of them pays the blended price and converts the least urgent of the five.

Local Services Ads for towing: the screening list is longer than for most trades

Towing is its own category on Google's United States screening page for Local Services Ads, described as a professional who offers auto towing and roadside assistance. The list of requirements is one of the longest on the page. Business and owner background checks apply to select users. The insurance list names general liability, professional liability, garage keepers liability, cargo liability, on-hook insurance and on-hook limit insurance, with garage keepers and on-hook marked as applicable where local law requires them, and state business and owner licenses are required where applicable. Google says screening takes three to four weeks on average. Towing was not named in the first wave of trades that Google began moving from Local Services Ads into Performance Max in 2026, though Google's own list says "including," so it is not a complete list. Either way, a Local Services Ad carries no image and no custom headline, which is why towing companies that run it still need search copy and social creative next to it.

Fleet, dealer and property accounts are a different sale and need different creative

The steadiest towing revenue often comes from accounts rather than emergencies: used car dealers moving inventory between lots, repair shops that need cars delivered, fleet operators with disabled vans and trucks, and apartment or retail property managers. None of these buyers searches "tow truck near me" at midnight. They choose a vendor during office hours, compare two or three companies and care about response time guarantees, invoicing, insurance certificates and whether you have the right truck for their vehicles. The creative should speak to that process: name the account types you serve, show the equipment rather than a roadside scene, and offer a rate sheet or a call with the owner. On platforms, this is a Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn sale aimed at owners and managers in your area, plus search terms such as "fleet towing service" and "dealer transport," not the emergency terms that carry the cash calls.

What a towing ad has to show, from a search headline to a 300 x 250 banner

A towing buyer decides in seconds, so the strongest search headlines are the ones that answer the three questions every stranded driver has: how fast, where and how much. Put your real arrival time only if you can keep it, name the cities or highways you cover, and carry the phone number on the call asset rather than in the headline text. On social and display, the image that works is your own truck, clean and branded, with the operator next to it, because the driver is deciding whether to trust a stranger with their car at night. Stock photos of generic trucks read as a lead seller. Build each job in 1080 x 1350 for the feed, 1080 x 1920 for Stories and Reels, 1200 x 628 for landscape placements, and 300 x 250, 728 x 90 and 160 x 600 for display retargeting, which reaches dealers and shop owners who visited your account page. Five jobs in six sizes is thirty files before a single test variant, plus 15 headlines per ad group on search, which is the production load AdsCreator takes off the owner.

questions

Towing company ad maker: the questions people ask.

How to advertise a towing business?

Advertise a towing business with Google Search ads that carry a call asset on "tow truck near me," "towing service" and "roadside assistance," plus Facebook and Instagram ads showing your own branded truck to drivers in your service area. Give light duty towing, roadside help, accident recovery, heavy duty and account work their own ads, and write separate creative for dealers and fleet managers.

What is the best advertising for a towing company?

Google Search is the best advertising for a towing company because most tows are bought on a phone within minutes of a breakdown, and search catches that moment. Local Services Ads add a pay per lead listing once you pass Google's towing screening. Facebook and Instagram work best for account sales and for keeping your name known before the emergency happens.

Do Google Ads work for towing companies?

Google Ads work for towing companies because the searcher needs the service now and calls from the results page. One agency managing more than 30 towing campaigns reported typical costs of $20 to $30 per lead and conversion rates of 20 to 30 percent, well above most industries. Results depend on answering every call, a tight service area and many negative keywords.

How much should a towing company spend on advertising?

Size the budget per truck and per lead, not as a percentage guess. One towing agency reports that about $1,000 a month per truck keeps a truck busy and suggests a daily budget of five to ten times your cost per lead. At a $25 lead that is $125 to $250 a day. Start smaller in a small market and judge it on booked jobs.

Are call-only ads going away for towing companies?

Yes. Google stopped allowing new call-only ads in February 2026 and all existing call-only ads stop receiving impressions in February 2027. Towing companies should move to responsive search ads with a call asset, which still show a call button on mobile but need up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions written for each ad group.

How much does towing advertising software cost?

AdsCreator pricing starts at $39 per month on Starter, or $29 per month billed yearly. There is no free plan and no credits to ration, so building separate ad sets for towing, roadside help, recovery, heavy duty and account work costs the same as building one. Every plan exports all Facebook, Instagram and Google sizes, and your media budget is billed by Google and Meta separately.

Budget is the first question most tow owners ask, and the honest answer starts with the fact that nobody publishes a multi account towing benchmark. How much Google Ads cost for towing companies lays out every published figure with the sample behind it and shows how to size a budget per truck from your own call rate.

Towing shares its customer with the shop the car goes to. The auto repair shop advertising page covers the repair side, where many towing companies pick up referral work, and auto dealer ad builder software covers the dealer lot, which buys transport and lot moves on account.

For the search copy itself, the Google ad copy generator writes responsive search ad headlines and descriptions to the character limits, and Google Ads for contractors covers Local Services Ads and the move to Performance Max for service businesses.
