Pencil AI pricing in 2026 is two public plans and one quote: Core at $14 a month for 50 generations, Growth at $55 a month for 250 generations, and a custom Pro plan for enterprises. Annual billing takes about 20 percent off, which brings Core to $11 and Growth to $44 a month. The numbers below come from Pencil's own pricing page, read November 6, 2026.

This is written for a marketer, store owner or small agency deciding whether Pencil is the right tool to pay for. It covers each plan, what a generation actually buys, where the bill grows, and how Pencil compares with a flat priced static ad tool.

Core and Growth are self serve and include AI agents for text, images, video and ad creative, performance scores, and ad launch and tracking on the major platforms. Core has one workspace and chat support. Growth adds unlimited workspaces, a lower cost per generation at higher volume, and direct access to the product team. Pro adds bulk generation from product feeds, unlimited users, brands and markets, access controls, enterprise terms and a dedicated customer success contact. Pro and its add-ons for integrations, managed pilots and training are quote only, so there is no public price to plan around.

What a Pencil generation actually buys

Pencil counts generations, not credits, and the allowance does not roll over. Core and Growth cannot go past the monthly number. Resizing an ad into another format costs one generation per additional format, so a single concept resized into four placements can use five of your 50 generations on Core. That is the number to test first: ask how many finished, correctly sized ads 50 generations gives you for the placements you actually run, not how many concepts.

What raises the bill beyond the plan price

On the self serve plans the ceiling is the plan itself, so the cost grows by moving up a tier, from $14 to $55 once you pass 50 generations a month. On Pro, overages are billed at the end of the cycle at plan rates, and the page does not state those rates. Annual subscriptions can be paid by bank transfer, but the page also notes that fees are not refundable after a trial ends and a paid upgrade occurs, so decide before you upgrade.

Is there a free plan or a free trial?

Signing up gives six free guided ads. Full platform access needs a paid plan, and the page states no trial length for paid plans. Some review sites describe different free allowances or even a one time price, but the vendor page shows the monthly and annual prices above, so use it as the reference.

Why other sites list different Pencil prices

Review and directory pages disagree with each other, and some still describe a one time payment or older tier names. Plans change, and the yearly rate divided by twelve is shown as the headline number. Always compare the monthly billed figure with another tool's monthly billed figure.

Is Pencil worth it?

Pencil is worth it when you run many channels, want video next to images, and care about its performance scoring and launch tracking inside one tool. It is worth less if your work is paid static ads: headlines and descriptions inside exact character limits, every placement ratio, and several tested angles per offer. In that case you pay for a video and analytics suite you may not use, and the generation count shrinks quickly once resizing counts against it.

Pencil pricing compared with a flat priced static ad tool

AdsCreator is one example, and the comparison is only fair with the differences stated: it makes static image ads and copy for paid campaigns, not video, and it does not launch campaigns or track performance for you.

On sticker price Pencil Core is cheaper. The question is what you can finish for the placements you run. If you need video and scoring in one place, Pencil is the right tool. If you need tested static variants for Meta and Google ads at one flat price, see AdsCreator pricing, or read how other credit meters compare in Predis AI pricing and Creatify pricing. A small business ad maker setup is usually the cheaper shape of the same job.

Once the ads are approved, the research and reporting around the campaign often lands on the same person, and an AI agent that does business tasks end to end can take some of that off their desk.

What to do next

If you need video and scoring, start with Pencil's six free ads and count how many placements one generation really covers. If your work is paid static ads, paste a product URL into the studio at the top of this page and compare the result against what the generations would have cost you.
